COVENANTS

Adamic, Noahic, and Abrahamic, Mosaic, covenants

• (1) Adamic Covenant

  • Reference: Genesis 3:14-19

  • Details: Made with Adam and Eve after the fall in Eden, pronouncing consequences for sin and the first promise of a redeemer (the seed of the woman).

    
    

• (2) Noahic Covenant

  • Reference: Genesis 9:9-17

  • Details: Made with Noah, his family, and all living creatures, promising never again to destroy the earth with a global flood, signed with the rainbow.

    
    

• (3) Abrahamic Covenant

  • Reference: Genesis 12:1-3, 17:7

  • Details: Made with Abraham, promising him land, numerous descendants, and that all families of the earth would be blessed through his lineage.

    
    

• (4) Mosaic Covenant

  • Reference: Exodus 19-24 (specifically Exodus 24:8)

  • Details: Made with the nation of Israel at Mount Sinai, providing the Law and establishing Israel as God's holy nation, conditional upon their obedience.

  • Details: Made with Israel, expanding on the Abrahamic promise by guaranteeing Israel's ultimate possession and restoration to the Promised Land.

  • Details: Made with King David, promising that his royal dynasty and throne would endure forever, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
