PEACE AND MY SEVEN WEAPONS

Updated: Feb 8

I know staying in Your Peace requires work and labor. You even said, I had to labor to rest, I must labor to stay in agreement with You and Your Word and that is why I cannot experience Your True Peace without You - Jesus and Your Holy Spirit and accepting and using Your Weapons of War That You made available to me.

PRAYER FOR INNER PEACE

I open my heart to You, dear God, and let Your Peace fill my being.

In Your presence, I am peaceful, poised, confident and strong.

I relax in Your loving care, dear God, and release all my cares to You, knowing that You are upholding me and sustaining me in all that I do.

As I keep my heart and mind centered in You, God, I feel Your peace infusing my entire being and keeping me serene and secure.

To You, beloved God, I release all sense of turmoil.

In the comfort of Your presence, I am content and peaceful.

God, Your presence calms me, Your presence quiets the storms around me, and Your presence leads me to a place of perfect peace In You!

As I center myself in Your peaceful presence, I let go of every concern and relax in the safety of Your love, in quietness and confidence as You said to do.

SCRIPTURES & THE WORD FOR PEACE

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philip. 4:7

Psalm 37:5-7 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Phi. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Phi. 4:11-13 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Phi. 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Mat. 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Heb. 4:9-14 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Isa. 30:15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Isa. 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Psa. 121:5-8 The LORD is thy keeper: The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psa. 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Exo. 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Rom. 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

1st Cor. 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Prov. 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Mat. 6:33- 34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Heb. 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of Spirits, and live?

Jam. 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

THE PRINCE OF PEACE

Romans 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;

And the government will rest on His shoulders;

And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

I praise You for my ability to submit-to and to Receive You in the form of Peace, manifested as my Peace right now!

16 In ALL circumstances I will use Your Shield of Faith, so that I can extinguish all the flaming darts of satan, everything he tries to use to tempt me, shake-up my day, or cause me doubt, fear or sin; I will cast-down, change the thought in 3 seconds or less, I will quickly make anything that I think, Anything that I hear or Anything that I experience; I will quickly make it line-up with and agree-with Your Word and Your Purpose for my life (even if I must totally forget that it even happened). You are my Faith! You are the Word!

THE ARMOR OF GOD - EXPLAINED

The 7 Pieces of Armor of God?

We have been given an arsenal to help us fight against our enemy. We are in a fight because the devil’s goal is to deceive. We are told in John 10:10 that his mission is “…to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”

We have been given the Armor of God to help us fight against the devil’s wiles. We don’t have to live as timid, defeated Christians. We have God’s armor to engage in the battle and win!

We can have the victory over temptation and discouragement! If we will learn how to use the armor that God has provided for us.

1) The Belt of Truth

In Ephesians 6:14, we are told how to apply the belt of truth. This truth, as explained in John 4:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

No matter how much we desire to know God and live by His Word, we cannot do this without having a personal relationship with Jesus. He is the Truth…the first piece of the armor of God.

Think about what a belt does. A belt pretty much holds us together, keeping our clothes where we want them to be, allowing us to carry things with us that we might need. In some situations, we would be a complete mess without a belt.

Imagine wearing clothes that are too loose and going through your day without a belt to hold them up. You would be exhausted by the end of the day because too much energy would have been spent on doing the job a belt easily could have done for you.

When we don’t acknowledge Jesus as our Truth, we are attempting to take on a responsibility that was never meant to be ours. Putting on the Belt of Truth allows us to keep the rest of our armor in place because Jesus, the Truth, is the most important piece of our armor.

Putting on the Belt of Truth allows us to keep the rest of our armor in place because Jesus, the Truth, is the most important piece of our armor.

2) The Breastplate of Righteousness

In Ephesians 6:14 we are instructed to wear the breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness means right living, an element of goodness that we are simply not capable of on our own.

A breastplate covers our heart, the very source of our happiness and our pain. When our emotions rule us, we tend to lack peace because we are looking for outside sources to give us what they cannot.

Wearing that breastplate protects us, keeping our heart focused on Jesus, the only source of goodness we can experience. And thereby keeps us walking in God’s will, living out His righteousness.

3) The Gospel of Peace

Ephesians 6:15 tells us about an important piece of our armor, our shoes. These coverings for our feet are being prepared with the Gospel, our source of peace.

Without shoes, we wouldn’t get very far, especially if the ground we walk on is anything less than perfect. And, since ground is subject to the elements, there will always be something to potentially harm us or trip us.

Shoes protect our feet. They also allow us to go places that otherwise would be too dangerous for us to travel.

The Word of God, the shoes that will protect us from the devil while also giving us what we need to share Jesus with others, will keep us from going to the wrong places and protect us from pain that may come our way when we tread where we shouldn’t go.

By spending time in God’s Word, we hide in our heart what we need to help us to not sin against Him, as we are told to do in Psalm 119:11.

By wearing the shoes of the armor of God, we also open ourselves up to follow the perfect map of God’s Word, letting us know exactly where we need to go to help others.

4) The Shield of Faith

In Ephesians 6:16 God shares with us the shield of faith. We carry a shield in our hand. It is a defense weapon, one we need to protect us from the weapons thrust toward us from others. It can be moved, allowing protection to every part of our bodies.

We are told that the devil will send fiery darts our way. By simply having faith, we can fight the evil of these arrows.

We are told in Hebrews 11:6 that “…without faith it is impossible to please…” God. We have the ability to exercise our faith which helps us to raise the shield to protect us from every temptation the devil throws our way.

5) The Helmet of Salvation

Ephesians 6:17 reminds us of our helmet of salvation.

Our mind needs protection. Our thoughts can take us places we don’t need to go. Our mind also can, when saturated in the Word of God, remind us of the truth, protect us from lies hurled at us.

The helmet of salvation is a gift we are given when we put our trust in Jesus, accepting everything He did to save us from our sins and give us eternal life.

6) The Sword of the Spirit

Ephesians 6:17 tells us about the sword of the spirit which is God’s Word.

When you are in any kind of battle, you need a weapon. Without one, it isn’t possible to fight someone who does have one.

And the devil definitely has weapons. Yet, his weapons cannot even come close to the sword we Christians are given when we are born again.

However, it’s a weapon we have to choose to pick up, though; it’s no good to us if it isn’t used.

7) Prayer

The final piece of the armor of God mentioned in Ephesians 6:18 is prayer. It is a weapon we can pull out at any time.

Jesus also admonished His Disciples to Pray (communicate with Him) so that they would not enter into temptation! God can talk us over all temptations and problems.

It is a weapon that Jesus Himself used. We are told throughout the Gospels how Jesus went away to pray to the Father, setting an example for us to follow.

The Bible tells us there will be times when we don’t know what to pray. God took care of that for us by giving us His Holy Spirit who can pray for us. In Romans 8:26, we learn that “…the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Through fervent prayer, we not only get the protection we need, but we also gain strength to fight the devil’s fiery darts and live for our Saviour.
